Studio *Sly is Open
International artist, Mr.Sly, has opened Durham City’s first pop art gallery, Studio*Sly.
Mr. Sly is a mixed-media artist known for his collages and contemporary interpretations of 20th-century pop culture. Producing both limited edition prints and original pieces, Mr. Sly’s work is showcased in galleries across the United Kingdom and America – and now here in County Durham at Prince Bishops Place!
The Opening
The official opening took place on Saturday 3rd August with Gary Hutchinson, Durham City Deputy Mayor and County Councillor cutting the red ribbon on the new gallery and creative space.
Invited guests, artists and shoppers at the well attended event were welcomed into the new store and enjoyed complimentary refreshments and the first opportunity to view a section of Mr Sly’s recent works.
Urban Pop Artist With A Twist
Calling himself an ‘Urban Pop Artist’, Mr. Sly’s bold graphic images offer a contemporary slant on 20th Century popular culture with a street art twist. Visitors to the new gallery can view and enjoy samples of Mr Sly’s artwork.
Currently on display is examples of work from his Life Series, Neon Art, Mixed Art and Sk8 Art collections.

Celebrity Fanbase
Throughout his career, Mr. Sly’s artwork has gained international acclaim, with Paris Hilton, Savannah Marshall, Molly McCann, and former heavyweight champion, David Haye, counted amongst the long list of his celebrity collectors.
Mr. Sly is planning for the new Durham-based gallery to be a dynamic space, showcasing his portfolio of work, and a vibrant hub for Durham’s artistic community.
