OPEN TODAY FROM 9am-5.30pm

Prince Bishops Place is proud to announce the Durham city-centre shops which will be taking part in World Refill Day 2025.

From June 16th, Refill Return and City to Sea are challenging the people of Durham to make one eco-friendly swap every day for five days. Refill a water bottle, swap out a single-use coffee cup for a reusable thermos, or bring your own tote on your next shopping trip.

Several shops around Prince Bishops Place have partnered with Refill Return to incentivise visitors to make small swaps to eco-friendlier alternatives. Participants in the #5DayChallenge can help tackle plastic pollution by paying a visit to the venues taking part.

Refill & Return

Costa Coffee will accept any reusable cup to house your favourite caffeinated beverage. Costa Club members will even get an extra bean on their card every time they make a purchase using their own mug! That’s an extra step closer to claiming your free drink as part of this membership programme.

Independent caterer and cafe The Picnic Basket will also happily refill hot and cold drinks if you bring your own cup. It’s the perfect place to stop for lunch and hit your refill goals for that day! Swing by TJ Hughes for your essentials and fill your travel mug at their in-store coffee shop.

Bertie’s Play Barn offers a handy stop to refill water bottles at the Snack Cabin, helping you stay hydrated throughout the day without falling back on a single-use plastic drinks bottle.
