OPEN TODAY FROM 9am-5.30pm

We are delighted that our ever popular umbrella street has been a huge success this year, raising over £3,000 for Team Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust.

Customers were encouraged to purchase a wooden tag supplied by retailer, Elvet and Bailey, for a £5 minimum donation. The wooden tags were personalised in memory of someone special or to show appreciation for a friend or family member. The tags were then attached to one of the 353 Umbrellas hung at Prince Bishops Place, which created a dramatic display.

We aimed to raise over £1500.00, so were thrilled to more than double that through this fantastic initiative. All proceeds raised have been donated to Team Solan Family Cancer Trust, a charity created to help improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer in County Durham. Based in Spennymoor, they provide help and advice for people who need to escape from the turmoil that cancer can bring. The charity can also help with small grants to help purchase equipment, attend a hairdressing appointment or to enjoy a well needed break or day out. For more information about the charity please visit www.teamsolan.org.uk.

As well as receiving a keepsake tag, customers also have the chance to collect their personalised tag, once the display comes down in mid-October. These can be collected from Elvet and Bailey and further details will be provided nearer the time.
