OPEN TODAY FROM 9am-5.30pm

Santa’s gone green this year using his EV fleet!

All we want for Christmas is an eco-conscious Santa Claus, which is why you’ll find him powering up his magical sleigh in the electric vehicle charging bays at the award-winning Prince Bishops Place car park!

When you visit Prince Bishops Place for all your Christmas shopping this festive season, park your electric vehicle next to Santa’s sleigh, and rest assured that your car is safely charging whilst you secure your Christmas goodies at our stores.

With almost one million fully electric cars on UK roads, we understand the importance of having a space for those drivers to charge their cars up as they shop and visit Durham. Prince Bishops has six Pod-Point vehicle charging bays on Level 1 of our car park, alongside the regular parking bays.

Prices & Tariffs

The charging points within the car park operate on a per Kwh rate of £0.40p per Kwh. You will be charged based on the consumption of energy during your charge period. Car parking tariffs also apply during your stay.

All you have to do prior to visiting is download Pod Point to complete the registration process. Once complete, you’ll find an available charging point, open the app and locate where your car is parked, plug in and charge!

Richard Toynbee, Centre Manager at Prince Bishops Place said:

At Prince Bishops Place, we are committed to our customers who wish to reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible, and facilitate the growth of sustainable transportation. With this in mind, we have created a space dedicated to customers with electric vehicles to support this. They can shop for as long as they desire with the knowledge that their cars are safe and will be charged upon their return.”
